I am a genius.
All this time, I had been worried about CAS. I feared that I would fail the IB due to my lack of creativity. But I have since had a revelation - a revolutionary idea that will surely satisfy my supervisor.
I am going to learn how to cook.
You see, I am deeply passionate about cooking. I have been consuming food all my life, or at least, for as long as I can remember. Food, as a concept, is incredibly dear to my heart, which is part of the reason why I chose to take up this task.
Now, one might think this a difficult endeavour for a student who doesn’t know the first thing about cooking, but I beg to differ. Cooking, at its heart, is just like running an experiment - the difference being that you are actually allowed to eat the results.
Not that I’ve ever been tempted to eat the results of my experiments or anything. In fact, I can wholeheartedly assure you that I take lab safety very, very seriously. I swear on my excellent Biology grades, as well as the soul that I may or may not have, that I have never so much as thought about ingesting the lactose-free milk, or- ahem. But I digress.
The question at hand, now, regards the recipes I will be using. As an aspiring chef, I decided that I should by no means constrain myself to only using existing recipes. No, I would go the extra mile; instead of limiting my creativity, I would use it to my advantage, leveraging my experiences in the sciences as inspiration for novel and flavorful recipes.
So, join me as I prepare to embark on this cooking journey of mine; as I go through old recipes and devise new ones, all for the sake of expanding my culinary horizons.
After all, what could possibly go wrong?
