My Horrifying Experience With Cooking Class

Cooking class… It seems cool, right? I mean you can cook, eat and take your wonderful meals home to share with your dear friends and family. Well, I don’t think so, it’s terrible, insufferable and just absolutely atrocious. I’ve had some terrible experiences with cooking class, although it’s partially because of my terrible cooking skills (we don’t talk about it). It’s also because everything about cooking class just brings the vibes down. Even if the vibes are brought down, the final product looks literally nothing like the photo they show you before cooking. Let me tell you one of my horrifying experiences while being in a cooking class.

One day, I had nothing to do. So I followed my friend to a cooking class. Everything was going well. We were making sushi—chopping the sashimi and cutting the fish. I was enjoying the class, it was nice making food with friends. However, it was time to assemble the sushi together. While my friend and I were assembling it, other people from the table across us were throwing clumps of rice balls at our table. Who does that? Who randomly throws rice balls at other people while cooking? They then proceeded to use the tip of the knife as a catapult to throw their rice balls at other members of the cooking class. At this point, I didn’t know what to do, my friend didn’t either and the chef just sat there wandering around doing nothing.

After all that hassle, we decided to bail the class. While walking out of the class with grains of rice on my shirt and on my back. We came to the conclusion that both of us will never ever join a cooking class again. It took years for me to take the rice off and it was 300 bucks a session. 300 bucks. I could’ve bought so much sushi from a restaurant with that money.

Just don’t go to a cooking class, please don’t. You don’t need cooking classes. We live in the age of information, this link teaches you how to make sashimi from scratch.

And to all the so-called ‘cooking instructors’ out there, make an online course, I guess.
