Horrifying Emergency Alert Stories

On March 9th at 5:55 pm, the Hong Kong government sent an alert to every smartphone in the region. It alerted citizens not to enter Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as it has been converted into a ‘designated hospital’ to receive COVID-19 patients. However, along with the visual notification, the alert triggered a sound like no other…

This YouTube short features a dramatic and horrifying sound. The short clip says it all. When the sound played, the person holding the camera freaked out — you can see their camera shaking up and down like they were about to fall off a cliff. However, they were in their house when the alert sounded, just not scary enough.

I, along with my fellow minions in Leeks, have conducted region-wide surveys to showcase the most horrifying experiences with the alert.

A Sleep Like No Other

“I was asleep. I had taken a nap at 5:30 pm because I was super tired. Right when I was entering REM sleep, the alarm sounded. My phone was right next to my head, and it played super loudly. I woke up immediately, looked at my phone. I saw something with Queen Elizabeth hospital, I thought it got bombed or something. Maybe it got nuked, and that would be worthy of an emergency announcement.”

Before he could finish reading, she fell asleep once again.

“Oh my god. I was dreaming that my house got nuked right after the alert. My house turned into rubble — and I was the only person alive. I ran and ran, but all I saw was rubble. I didn’t see anybody. So I went onto Instagram and saw that it was down. The whole internet was down. I then died of radiation and finally read the real emergency alert. Anyway it was a little underwhelming.”

Truly devastating. This is a once-in-a-lifetime nightmare triggered by the anxiety-filled subconscious of terrifying alerts. Let's all pray for him for immediate trauma relief.

MTR Crazy See Lai

“I was sitting in the MTR. 5:55 pm was quite crowded in the Kwun Tong (Green) line. When we got the alert, everybody had a jump scare. Suddenly, the train was loud with siren noises: grinning, growling, and glaring. We all kind of moved out of instinct, so it started a domino chain.”

One person started falling.

“Then it pushed another person and another person. I almost fell, but I’m just a gigachad. Then the See Lai fell, and thats where the madness started.”

The See Lai, shown in the photo on the left, raged. With alarms still ringing across the train car, the See Lai stood up and walked to me.

「***你老母!」, she said,「***街,死八**!。」

“Now, I was wondering. I’m not the one who fell. Why would she curse at me? And why are you calling me a 死八** when you are the 死八**?”

The See Lai punched ‘me’ in front of everyone with her 購物手拉車.

I passed out.

"It turns out that she punched me because I want a teenager, and she thought I hacked the government alert system to troll the MTR car. Someone should tell her that this isn’t how it works. It’s indeed quite hard to hack into the government communications system — and if I was able to — I would risk getting arrested for something that could make me money. And I would use a VPN.”

This story completely stomps the other! Just a little emergency alert caused a whole battle to happen! We pray for the victim to have healed face by today.

The Silent Mode

“My phone was in silent mode. I didn’t hear it.”

Yeah. This story isn’t horrifying at all — but we only ‘’’’’’interviewed’’’’’ three people because I have no time to write this article.

Why alert?

This advertisement produced by the Hong Kong Government shows that the emergency alert system is supposed to be used when there is a case of extreme weather (typhoons, heavy rain). However, I guess they forgor because this wasn’t an emergency alert system.

At least, if it happens again, we won’t be as frightened.

Apart from those See Lai’s, they never learn from their mistakes.

The End.
