Ingredients:
6 apples
100 grams of table sugar
100 grams of table salt
1 pre-made pie crust
5 candles
Apparatus:
A lighter
At least three knives
A pie tin
One and a half tables
Archimedes
Circle
This recipe produces 1 apple pie and 1 [REDACTED].
Steps:
Place the pie tin onto the intact table.
Set your pre-made pie crust into the tin, followed by 100 grams of table sugar and 6 apples.
Sprinkle the salt around your pie tin using the circle, which should have an approximate radius of 25.8 cm, for guidance.
Neatly place the candles along the edge of the circle. The distance between any two candles should be around 32.4 cm.
Summon Invite the ghost of the Greek mathematician Archimedes to check whether your measurements are correct. If not, rearrange the apparatus until they are.
Go around the circle in an anticlockwise direction and use the lighter to light the candles, one by one, until all 5 have been lit.
Retreat behind half a table. Take the knives and the lighter with you, just in case.
Recite the digits of π.
Gaze proudly upon the fruits of your labours.
Savour it. Taste it. Enjoy it!
